Craig Toews
As the Vice President External at the University of the Fraser Valley (UFV), Craig Toews brings extensive leadership and a deep understanding of the UFV environment to the role of vice-president, external. In his role, Toews is responsible for fostering the university’s reputation and heads up key areas, including:
- Government, community, and corporate relations
- Advancement and alumni relations
- Communications
- Marketing
- Ceremonies and events
- Property Development
- Ancillary services
Toews is responsible for the planning and development of the University’s campuses and centres with a lead role in community liaison, partnerships, and resource development for the purpose of revenue generation.
Toew’s portfolio encompasses leading and supporting the sustainable development of UFV’s campuses, giving oversight to all major capital projects and property development. Toews serves on numerous external committees including the Abbotsford Chamber of Commerce, Chilliwack Economic Partners Corporation Board, Mission Economic Development Committee, Abbotsford’s Development Advisory Committee, and many other external committees and working groups that impact the social, cultural, and economic development of the Fraser Valley.
With over 29 years at UFV, his collaborative leadership style has demonstrated his commitment to students, integrity, and team work. “I am passionate about the experience our students have on campus and impact we have on our community,” says Toews.
