University governance

Board of Governors

The management, administration, and control of the property, revenue, business and affairs of the University of the Fraser Valley are vested in its Board of Governors.

Joanne MacLean is the President and Vice-Chancellor of the university, and her office reports to the Board of Governors.

Senate

The Senate is the academic governing body responsible for policies concerning academic matters and for advising the Board of Governors on policies of mutual interest.

Secretariat

The Secretariat is responsible for supporting the university governing bodies — the Board of Governors and the Senate, as well as their standing and ad hoc committees.

Office of the Chancellor

The Chancellor is the ceremonial head of the University of the Fraser Valley, presiding over convocation and conferring UFV credentials (degrees, diplomas, and certificates).
