PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

We recognize that careers change and evolve and that’s why we have introduced the Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) Access to the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program.

The LPN access to BSN bridging cohort is delivered in a hybrid learning format, with both online and in-person learning.

Program outline and course descriptions are under construction.

CAREER EXPECTATIONS

UFV’s program is approved by the College of Registered Nurses of B.C. Upon graduation, you will be eligible to successfully write the registration examinations, which will allow you to practice as a registered nurse.

Recent healthcare reforms launched by the provincial government emphasize health promotion, disease prevention, and community-based health care. These changes mean new opportunities for today’s UFV nursing grads, who are recognized as major contributors to health care reform.

As a graduate, you are prepared to practice in hospitals or in the community — and at many different levels.

The First Nations Health Authority promotes opportunities for young, passionate, and educated B.C. First Nations and Aboriginal youth. Check out their health careers guidebook for info about specific health careers.

ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS

View entrance requirements in the Academic Calendar

Given the competitive entry process, meeting the minimal entrance requirements may not lead to admission into the program. Typically, shortlisted applicants have a minimum of B+ in each of the required academic courses.

When to apply

Applications for the Fall semester (September intake) open October 1 and have an application and document submission deadline of January 31. Course descriptions and Program outline are under construction.
