Agriculture is big business. With its rich soil, favourable climate and proximity to large markets, the beautiful Fraser Valley stands as one of Canada’s agricultural hot beds.
As a UFV Agriculture student, you have the opportunity to study at the eco-friendly Agriculture Centre, a new facility that features one of the tallest greenhouses in North America and a spacious demonstration barn.
The Fraser Valley ranks number one in the province’s agricultural economy, generating over $1 billion in gross farm receipts each year. In fact, one in five jobs in the Fraser Valley is related to the agricultural sector. The future looks promising, with demand for BC’s agri-food products on the rise both in local and foreign markets.
UFV's faculty assists you with hands on technical information relevant in today's job market. This allowed me to make a smooth transition into the agriculture sector.
I use the knowledge and skills I learned at UFV on a daily basis, both at work and at home on the farm.
The UFV Agriculture department is like a searchlight that illuminated the direction of my career goal; I just walked towards it.
