What We Do
The Academic Success Centre offers one-on-one feedback on the writing that you are doing for your UFV courses and on your subject-area content.
Peer Tutors can assist you in understanding various writing assignments, such as research essays and reports, annotated bibliographies, literature reviews, lab reports, critical reviews, resumes, and application and cover letters.
We can assist you at various stages of your writing process with, for example, understanding your assignment requirements, narrowing topics, identifying research strategies, developing ideas, organizing material, drafting, and revising.
We do not proofread your written work; rather, we offer advice that you can apply to your writing.
You will be able to request help from Peer Tutors in a range of subject-area specialities. Please check back as we update our website to include more detail about this. If you need some assistance in a subject area sooner than that, please call us at 605-504-4282 to arrange an appointment.

How to book a consultation appointment
Visit the Book an Appointment section of our website or drop in and we will get you started in the system.
Consultations are private and confidential.
Appointments are 15 to 45 minutes long with a maximum of one per day (there are some restrictions on the total number per week during peak times). However, if you need another appointment AND there is an unbooked appointment spot, we will try to accomodate your request.
Please bring your instructor’s guidelines and a printed copy of your assignment (You can also print in the Academic Success Centre if you have a scheduled appointment).
