You might begin university unsure of your career goals and may change your goals at least once. Effective career planning involves knowing yourself, understanding the world of work and sorting through the possibilities.
To explore your career options and find focus, we provide such services as:
- Individual appointments
- Self-assessment tools
- 'What you can do with your degree' information
Contact us to make an appointment with a counsellor to help you clarify your direction. Your counsellor will work with you to identify your interests, values, skills and personality and then help you to determine possible careers.
UFV offers free career and life planning workshops for students and members of the community. These two hour workshops explore career and life options through self-assessments, exploring the world of work, as well as decision-making and action steps. Register for a workshop by contacting Student Services, Abbotsford Campus, Room B214 or phone (604) 854-4528, between 9 am and 4:30 pm.
