Dieter Geesing teaches soils classes in the Agriculture Technology Department at UFV.
He is the Provincial Soil Specialist for the BC Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Fisheries. He has been working in soil science and composting for the private industry, NGOs and academia in Canada and worldwide for almost three decades.
He loves teaching at UFV. The small class sizes allow him to follow the career path of many students and the hands-on courses keep him grounded.
Dieter earned a M.S. in Forestry from the University of Göttingen, a M.S. in Plant and Soil Science from Texas A&M and a Ph.D. in Soil Science and Plant Nutrition from the Technical University of Munich.
"I went into the Agriculture Technology Diploma not knowing where I wanted to end up in the agriculture industry. UFV's courses on production animal nutrition and health sparked an interest in the feed industry for me."
