The Math Department Pre-Calculus Test (MDPT) is a Grade 12 math ability indicator for the Mathematics and Statistics department only. It is a closed-book exam that covers the major topics of BC Math 12: algebra, functions, equations and inequalities, exponential and logarithmic functions, and trigonometry. Calculators and other electronics (including translators) are NOT allowed during the exam.
The MDPT may be used as a prerequisite for MATH 110 and MATH 111 if you achieve the scores listed below:
- At least 55% for entrance into MATH 110 Pre-Calculus Math
- At least 70% for entrance into MATH 111 Calculus I

Register for the MDPT
To write the MDPT, register in advance through the Office of the Registrar (OReg) at any UFV main campus.
The $25 fee is due at the time of registration and is non-refundable; however, prior to the exam date, you may switch to another exam sitting at no extra cost.
The MDPT may only be written once.
