Step-by-step How to add a PDF or document to your content
- Place the cursor where you want the PDF document to go.
- Use the Insert menu item and choose Insert file link or image or click on the shortcut image icon in the toolbar. T4 will open the media library.
- If your PDF is already uploaded, you'll need to search or browse for it. If you haven't added your PDF to the library yet, go to the folder you want to add your document to and click the green +Add media button.
- Upload your file by dragging and dropping or clicking to browse your computer.
IMPORTANT: the filename of your document will become its web address, or URL.
Whenever possible, rename your PDF to something clear, descriptive, and without any dates in the title before you upload it.
Why is that?
You may want to update this document in the future. Let's say, to the 2023 version. If your original file name includes 2022, when you upload the new version, your file name will change, and so will the PDF's URL. This will create broken links. This is why it's better to choose a generic name.
