In her leisure time, she enjoys swimming, watching movies, and cherishing moments with her family. Her dedication to supporting childbearing families inspired her career at BC Women’s Hospital. In 2021, she merged her passion for education and her commitment to childbearing families by applying for a position as nursing faculty.

The educational philosophy that resonates most with Upasana is humanism.
She believes that teaching is a partnership between the student and educator. She aims to facilitate learning in a manner that allows each student to apply knowledge, interpret their learning experiences, and critically think about their practice. She views teaching as a moral responsibility and believes that learning can result in personal growth and fulfilment.
Childbearing families
Research interests include respectful infant feeding practices, postpartum depression in partners and fathers, and consideration of equity, diversity, inclusivity, and indigeneity (EDI-I) within digital health nursing.
