MORE ACCESS TO GRAPHIC DESIGN SERVICES AT UFV

Our design team will provide print and digital design expertise and support faculty and staff who want to create branded collateral for internal audience presentations and promotions. Branded templates are also available to UFV staff and faculty who prefer to design their materials.

You will work with our design team if:

  • You need help or want design advice when using UFV’s official branded templates for internal promotions.
  • You need assistance creating custom branded print materials to promote a service or event to students, faculty, or staff within UFV.
  • You need help building a presentation, report, forms, or other internal administrative documents
  • You want to create signage or displays for use on campus
  • You have a personal project (different rates apply).

Our design team collaborates with the UFV Marketing department to ensure that your project is professional, polished, and on-brand. Some projects might be referred to the marketing department if needed. Learn more about the Marketing department.

PROJECT INTAKE | HOW TO REQUEST A CUSTOM DESIGN PROJECT

plan

1. Plan your project early

Ensure you have allotted enough time and budget for design and print production. You will receive an estimate as part of your intake process.

2. Prepare your content

Review your content carefully. Providing the design team with final, proofread written content will reduce the time it takes to complete your request. Copy should be approved and finalized by all stakeholders and supplied in a word document. Avoid extra formatting: make your content free of unnecessary spaces and tabs and provide in sentence-case.
Writing guidelines and best practices are available at ufv.ca/marcom.

3. Gather your assets

If you are supplying images, ensure they are high-resolution (300 dpi) and not protected by copyright.

The design team will discuss timeline estimates with you during the intake process. Projects can be expedited for an extra $15 per hour per project ($75/hour total).

The client is responsible for production timelines. Clients will be required to provide feedback on proofs within 48 hours or two business days. Please note that excess lapsed time or additional rounds of proofs will extend the project timeline.

Design and proofing process

You will be provided with a quote that includes time for three revisions. Clients will be required to provide feedback on proofs within 48 hours or two business days.

  • 1st ROUND — EXTENSIVE REVIEW

This is your opportunity to make significant changes to design and content.

  • 2nd ROUND — ACCURACY REVIEW

This is your opportunity to finalize graphic changes and make minor corrections to content.

  • 3rd ROUND — FINAL REVIEW

At this point in the process, the client should ensure that the piece is ready for print.
