In 2023 we began the steps to develop an Energy and Climate Resiliency Plan.
This Plan involves:
The result will be a reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, and an increased resilience to extreme weather events caused by climate change.
The Plan serves as a roadmap for supporting sustainability pan-institutionally.
This Plan will:
The results will be a more strategic and coordinated approach to a sustainable UFV.

UFV takes part in carbon reporting each year and achieves carbon neutrality through the purchase of carbon offsets. This report describes the sources of UFV’s greenhouse gas emissions across buildings, fleet, and paper.
Waste audits help to determine what is going into UFV’s waste streams and if the materials are being sorted into the correct bins. These help to plan for future management strategies for UFV.
The Transportation Demand Report was completed in 2022. The report outlines the UFV's options for more sustainable and accessible transportation solutions. UFV is currently predominantly a commuter University. The recommendations outline steps UFV can take to make the commute more sustainable, accessible, safe, and healthy.
