Director and Staff

Curtis joined UFV’s School of Social Work and Human Services in 1997. He was the School’s Field Education Coordinator for five years and Human Services Chair for six. In 2021, Curtis was appointed interim Director and, in 2023, Director of the School.

Curtis was Faculty Chief Steward from 2006 to 2010, then UFV’s Human Rights and Conflict Resolution Officer | Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Officer from 2010 to 2012.

Curtis’ professional interests include conflict resolution, family mediation, human rights, information privacy, and the regulation of social work practice.

Curtis completed a Certificate in Family Mediation at the Justice Institute and is an Associate Roster Mediator with Mediate BC.

Curtis was an elected member of the BC College of Social Workers’ Board from 2011 to 2016, where he served as Chair of the Inquiry Committee, Vice-Chair, and Chair of the College Board.
