email HannahHannah (she/her) is a lover of learning, passionate about recreation, wellness, sport and health, specifically promoting inclusion and social justice within these realms. She is an experienced facilitator and has worked within inclusion and accessibility at Douglas College, Kwantlen Polytechnic University and now at the University of the Fraser Valley. Hannah believes the classroom should be a place for critical thought, discussion, growth, laughs and movement, and she works to promote a student-led and holistic approach to learning. Hannah is enthusiastic about collaborating within other departments and welcomes emails from anyone interested in working together.
Hannah has worked on a range of social justice projects within her academic and professional career including producing a six part video series focused on the successes and challenges of women in sport, a human library centered on diversity in sport, working with human resources to make mandatory child protection trainings gender inclusive, formalizing a territory acknowledgment resource booklet with multiple stakeholders, researching the sports activism of women, nonbinary and transgender peoples through her Master’s thesis and committing to annual donations related to a social justice initiative through a sports organization that she is the president of.
Upgrading through UFV was absolutely the right decision for me. I could get my foot in the door at a wonderful university, and despite having not yet completed high school, I feel like a real university student! The upgrading courses are fun and have a relaxed environment — allowing you to thrive and flourish academically.
