What is a CFA designation?

The CFA acronym stands for Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) and the School of Business is part of the CFA Institutes University Affiliation Program. This means that we weave a large portion of the CFA Program Candidate's Body of Knowledge, including ethics and standards of practice into our curriculum.

Why is a CFA designation important for the UFV School of Business?

Entry into the CFA Institute University Affiliation Program signals to potential students, employers, and the marketplace that the UFV curriculum is closely tied to professional practice and is well-suited to preparing students to sit for the CFA examinations. The UFV School of Business is one of only three institutions in BC that are promoted by the CFA Institute to offer affiliated programs. Our program is part of 39 other Canadian institutions that have this designation.
