Apprenticeship training

Professional Cook Apprenticeship

Get your Professional Cook Red Seal

All Professional Cook apprentices need to be registered with Skilled Trades BC with support of an industry sponsor/employer. It is recommend that you have at least 5000 work-based training hours reported.

UFV offers  Professional Cook 3 for culinary apprentices to train and prepare for their Red Seal Interprovincial Exams. This 8-week course continues the hands-on experience of our existing program to facilitate experiential learning through labs, menu assignments and a cumulative capstone event. This program is appropriate for all apprentices who qualify, regardless of their original training institution.

If you are not currently working as a professional cook, you may consider enrolling first in UFV's professional cook foundation program to gain the entry-level skills needed to secure employment.

Please email trades@ufv.ca if you have any questions.
