Computer Information Systems minor
(for students in degree programs other than BCIS)
Entrance requirements
Students may declare the CIS minor once they have completed the lower-level requirements. A GPA of 2.67 or better in the lower-level CIS/COMP courses is required for acceptance. Students should declare the minor to an Educational Advisor in the Science Advice Centre. Students also require
one of the following in order to take required CIS and COMP courses: C or better in one of Pre-calculus 11, Foundations of Mathematics 11, Principles of Mathematics 11, or MATH 085; or one of Principles of Mathematics 12, Foundations of Mathematics 12, Pre-calculus 12, or MATH 094.
Academic performance for the minor in CIS
Students in the CIS minor program must maintain semester and cumulative grade point averages of at least 2.0 (a C average). Students must have a GPA of 2.0 (a C average) on the courses required. Upper-level CIS and COMP courses must be completed with a grade of C or higher in order to be counted for credit toward the minor.
Students who do not maintain the required cumulative grade point average will be placed on Academic Warning for one semester. If they do not attain the required CGPA, they will be required to withdraw from the minor.

Students also require
