  • UCFV Teaching Excellence Award (2000).
  • Visiting scientist at SFU (1994-1995).
  • The Vancouver Sun on Oct 20, 1990 did a full-page story (The Magic of Science) on my work for Science World.
  • The Knowledge Network produced a video (1990) of some of my demonstrations for use on its science shows.
  • An innovative teaching award from the Canadian Association of Community Colleges (1988)
  • Northern Telecom award (1988) for the innovative use of technology in the classroom.
  • A $12,000 grant from the Calgary School Board (1976) to conduct research into the efficacy of computer-aided-instruction (CAI).
  • National Science Foundation Scholarship (1971) from USA for my M.Sc. Degree at the University of Portland.

  • At the present time I am giving science talks on cruise ships, e.g.: The puzzles and paradoxes of science, The toys of physics, The pleasure and terror of thinking, etc. and in all of these talks the University of the Fraser Valley is mentioned and praised for its commitment to higher education.
