Peer Advisor headshot

Throughout my years at UFV, the Advising Centre was the place I knew I could go to gain comfort, guidance, and support. I began at UFV unsure of whether my goals were possible, but with the help of my advisors, I realized that any goal could be achieved as long as you have a strong plan, the correct information, and the support required. I completed my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, with a minor in Criminal Justice, and was able to take all of the courses required and achieve all of the necessary grades to continue on my educational journey. My advisors aimed to develop my independence, providing me with resources while encouraging me to find some information on my own. This allowed me to grow as a student and take my education into my own hands, knowing that I had a group of people who were prepared to help me if I came across any bumps along the way. Not only did advising help me to meet my goals and graduate with my dream degree, but they helped me to feel confident in myself and my decisions for the path I am embarking on. I am so thankful for the advising team at UFV and will forever be grateful for the knowledge and independence that I gained, allowing me to take the steps required to pursue my dreams.
