Karla enjoys collaborating with students on their educational goals, exploring opportunities and developing potential. Her goals in working with students one-on-one is to build confidence, capacity and curiosity. She sums ups her role in the following quote:

She began a career in advising 13 years ago at the University of British Columbia where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in 2007. Karla is fluent in Spanish, immigrated to Canada as a child and was a 1st generation university student.
