My research centers on the use of cell culture models derived from non-mammalian species, specifically fish and economically important invertebrates such as bees, shrimp, and lobsters. Specifically, my interest revolves around developing continuous cell lines that can be readily available and used for evaluating effects of nutrients, hormones, drugs, contaminants, toxicants, for applications in animal health, animal husbandry, biotechnology, environmental monitoring, etc.
