Creating leaders for a resilient future.
The department of Planning, Geography and Environmental Studies creates collaborative opportunities for students and community organizations to explore the geography of natural and human environments and plan a resilient future.
Our department offers connected programs united by a common purpose. We're preparing graduates who will help our planet become resilient to environmental change — by thinking, planning, and running programs and projects in our towns, cities, and beyond.
If you study Environmental Studies, you'll learn to track, manage, and protect the air, water, and land. As a human geographer, you'll assess how society impacts the environment and vice versa. And Regional and Community Planning graduates take the latest knowledge about environmental and climate issues and turn them into effective strategies that our communities can implement.
At UFV, you can also study in the Geoscience department, which offers a Bachelor of Science in Physical Geography and a Geographic Information Systems Certificate.
