Flavelle Annual Bursary in Political Science

AMOUNT: $750

AVAILABLE TO: A student enrolled within UFV's Political Science program.

CRITERIA:

  • Students must demonstrate financial need
  • Satisfactory progress (2.0 GPA) at UFV
  • Must be a Canadian citizen or Landed immigrant

PolCan2

POLCAN2, is the Official Listserv of the Canadian Political Science Association. Anyone interested in political science, and in communicating with political scientists, can subscribe. They seek to connect students, researchers, journalists, practitioners, teachers and all individuals interested in the discipline to one another and to international resources for the study of politics and government.

A variety of student work programs are available on Parliamentary Hill.

UFV bulletin boards

The Philosophy and Political Science bulletin board is updated regularly with various postings. Find it in the Philosophy and Political Science wing on the UFV Abbotsford Campus (third floor, D building).

Semester in Development program — Uganada

United Nations Association in Canada

The branches of the United Nations Association in Canada rely on volunteers to carry out their programs and projects in their communities. If you are interested in volunteering at the local level, you can contact one of UNA-Canada’s regional branches directly.

Embassy of Canada in Washington

The Embassy of Canada’s Internship Program provides students with an opportunity to be involved in governmental affairs and to develop an understanding of the Canada–U.S. bilateral relationship.

If you are a university graduate, you can build on your education throught the following internship programs:

Parliamentary Internship Program

This is a non-partisan program with the objective of providing an outstanding work-study experience for Canadian university graduates in all disciplines.

BC Legislative Internship Program

This program enables Canadian university undergraduates to supplement their academic training by observing the daily workings of the Legislature first-hand and by providing Members of the Legislative Assembly with additional assistance during the parliamentary session. The program starts in January of each year and runs for approximately 25 weeks, until the end of June. Participants must have already completed a first bachelor's degree from a Canadian university within two years before the start of the program.
