The Board of Governors has started the process to select the next President & Vice-Chancellor of UFV to succeed Dr. Joanne MacLean upon her planned retirement on June 30, 2025.
The Board leads the search for a new President & Vice-Chancellor per the President Search Policy (247) approved by the Board and Senate.
The UFV community will continue to be updated as the search process progresses.

November 19, 2024: President Search Launched
The search for UFV’s next president has officially been launched. The competition is now live on Leaders International’s webpage. In early 2025, the President Search Committee will convene to review the applications.
October 18, 2024: Position Description & Candidate Profile President & Vice Chancellor
As part of the President search, the UFV Board of Governors is seeking feedback on the position profile that will be used in the process. Members of the UFV community are invited to submit comments by November 1, 2024.
The deadline for feedback is now closed.
October 15, 2024: President Search Committee
UFV’s President Search Committee has been formed to select a successor following Dr. Joanne MacLean’s retirement on June 30, 2025.
The committee includes members of UFV’s Board of Governors, faculty, students, staff, and senior administrators. The committee will work with Leaders International – a leading Canadian firm with extensive experience recruiting Presidents, including many in B.C.
