Biography

I specialize in twentieth-century British and Irish modernism, modernism, the environmental humanities, and postcolonial and queer studies. I obtained my MA and PhD from the University of Victoria.

Teaching Philosophy

Fostering student agency has been the guiding philosophy for my specific approaches to teaching English literature and academic writing courses at UFV. My major teaching goal is to create an intellectually rigorous and socially equitable space for students to hone their analytic skills, take initiative in their learning process, and most importantly, find the confidence to test new ideas and engage with different perspectives.

Research Interests

My research interests include twentieth-century British and Irish literature, modernism, environmental humanities, and postcolonial and queer studies. My current project investigates the relationship between literary form and historical experience in twentieth-century British novel series. I am also planning a new project that focuses on interwar British fiction and energy infrastructure.
