Funding opportunities totaling over $1.3 million are available through the Chronic Pain Centre of Excellence for Canadian Veterans (CPCoE.)

These grants support events and outreach activities geared toward short-term, targeted knowledge mobilization initiatives. Amount: $7,000-$25,000. Duration: one year

Research evidence is urgently needed to guide Canada’s response to the current outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza A(H5N1). The maximum amount per grant is $150,000 per year for up to 1 year.

The Canadian Cancer Society and Lotte & John Hecht Memorial Foundation are excited to announce a recently launched new funding opportunity called “Disruptive Innovation Grants in Cancer Research”. These grants will provide a unique opportunity for researchers in cancer, or any other field of discipline, to test out their novel ideas for potentially game-changing impact in cancer prevention, detection, or treatment. $250k over two years. Letter of Intent due March 21, 2024 and full application by August 1, 2024.

The fellowship provides $70,000 per year for two years. The program is open to both Canadian and international researchers who have recently completed a PhD, PhD- equivalent, or health professional degree. Full details available here.

Insight Grants are expected to respond to the objectives of the Insight Research program. 

Insight Grants are valued at up to $400,000 over two to five years. A minimum request of $7,000 is required in at least one of the years. A maximum of $100,000 is available in a single year.

Applicants can choose from one of two streams when applying for an Insight Grant, depending on the amount of funding required:

• Stream A for requests between $7,000 and $100,000; or
• Stream B for requests between $100,001 and $400,000.

Partnership funding is intended for formal partnerships between postsecondary institutions and/or organizations of various types. For more information, see the definitions for formal partnership and partner organization. Value: $75k - $200k. Duration: 1-3 years

Envisioning Governance Systems that Work is one of the 16 global future challenges identified through SSHRC’s Imagining Canada’s Future initiative. Value: $30,000.  Application deadline: December 12, 2024
