Pre-announcement: upcoming funding opportunity on climate change and health IDRC 2024/02/26*

IDRC has a call for Expressions of Interest (EOI) for funding that will address Climate Change and Health. The funding is meant to establish regional hubs on climate change and health. The EOI is due March 15th, 2024, but only one application per institution is permitted. Therefore, the internal deadline for a draft EOI is February 26th to determine which proposal UFV will support. Please submit your EOI to by February 26, 2024.

Exploratory Research WorkSafeBC 2024/03/08

Academic researchers based in (or formally affiliated with) a Canadian university or a Canadian research institution are encouraged to apply to Exploratory Research as the principal applicant. All applicants must propose research topics that align with our research priorities.

  • Researchers are encouraged to form multi-disciplinary teams, including workers and employers, to address the research topic. Applicants are asked to carefully consider the composition of the research team to ensure that there is sufficient expertise and resources to conduct the project, perform effective knowledge translation and exchange, and obtain ethics approval as needed.
Awards are up to $125,000 for a duration of 24 months.

Disruptive Innovation Grants in Cancer Research Canadian Cancer Society (CCS) and the Lotte and John Hecht Memorial Foundation (Hecht Foundation) 2024/08/01

The Canadian Cancer Society and Lotte & John Hecht Memorial Foundation are excited to announce a recently launched new funding opportunity called “Disruptive Innovation Grants in Cancer Research”. These grants will provide a unique opportunity for researchers in cancer, or any other field of discipline, to test out their novel ideas for potentially game-changing impact in cancer prevention, detection, or treatment. $250k over two years. Letter of Intent due March 21, 2024 and full application by August 1, 2024.

NSERC Alliance International Catalyst grants NSERC Ongoing Catalyst grants will provide funding for one year to support Canadian researchers in initiating international research collaborations in the NSE disciplines. External
SNSF Scientific Exchanges program SNSF Ongoing

Scientific Exchanges is aimed at researchers who want to host their own scientific event in Switzerland, invite colleagues from abroad for a research visit to Switzerland, or visit their colleagues in another country.

Genome Canada GAPP Ongoing Genome Canada has relaunched the Genomic Applications Partnership Program (GAPP) and is actively accepting Expressions of Interest (EOI).
