What is an academic accommodation?
An academic accommodation is an adaptation that can help you overcome disability-related barriers to meet your course or program requirements.
At UFV, our goal is to help reduce barriers to your academic success. As reflected in UFV's Policy 93, we're committed to provide academic accommodations that foster diversity, inclusivity, and student success.
It is your responsibility to register with the CAS for academic accommodations and to meet your course or program requirements.
How are academic accommodations set up?
Every student is different, so we determine academic accommodations on a case-by-case basis. The Centre for Accessibility Services will guide you through an interactive process involving an intake appointment and a review of your supporting documentation.
How can academic accommodations help?
Academic accommodations can help address challenges with:
- Exams, tests, timed writing assignments, and quizzes
- Lectures, note-taking and course materials
- Physical access and sensory concerns
