How to apply

Application steps for domestic students

Note: Prospective International students follow different steps than those listed below.
Find out how to apply to UFV International.

1

Choose your program

Decide which UFV program you want to apply for.

See the list of programs

Not sure which program is right for you? Reach out to the Future Students team. We are happy to help you explore your options and find a program that fits.

2

Find your application dates

Some programs accept new students at specific times of the year (e.g. Fall only). Others accept new students in all semesters. Check when your program accepts applications.

You should also review general application deadlines to make sure you apply in time for the semester you prefer.

3

Check the requirements

Every program is different. Be sure to check the admissions requirements to find out what courses and grades you need. Your program might also ask you to submit additional documents with your application. Give yourself time to gather the documents you need.

Apply online

You'll use the EducationPlannerBC central application system to apply to UFV. If you haven't already, set up an account and then fill in your personal and academic information.

Program requirements: Some programs ask you to upload additional forms, such as sealed reference forms, personal statements, or volunteer history.

Application fee: You can pay your application fee when you apply using a credit card. You can pay by debit card or cheque on any campus, at the Office of the Registrar.

5

Send us your transcripts (grades)

Arrange to send us official transcripts of all your high school grades and any post-secondary courses you've taken so far. Try to get this step done as early as you can.

See instructions for submitting your transcripts.

6

Check your application status

Your application gets reviewed as soon as your application is complete. That means we've received your form, application fee, transcripts, and any additional materials.

Your UFV ID: Keep an eye out for a UFV email to your personal email address. That email is important. It contains your UFV ID, and instructions for logging into UFV's application portal. When you log into the application portal, you'll be able to see your application status.

Admission to an alternate program: If you are not admissible for your program of choice, we generally offer admission to an alternate program (e.g. ).

If you are admitted to UFV

If you are admitted into your program, you'll receive an official letter of acceptance. Congratulations! Remember that your acceptance may be conditional. A conditional acceptance means you're still finishing up your entrance requirements. Before you start your studies, we will need proof that you've completed all requirements. We'll let you know what you need to submit and by when.

Next steps: You're in! Now you'll need to accept your offer, pay your tuition deposit, and choose your courses. We've assembled all your next steps at ufv.ca/welcome.
