StrongerBC future skills grant (FSG)

2024-2025: Grow your skills and further your career by taking advantage of the Stronger BC future skills grant. UFV has applied for funding under the future skills grant program and is awaiting confirmation of the approved programs.  This webpage will be updated following the provincial announcement. In the meantime, the information below will be of interest to those seeking support through the Future Skills grant

What is the StrongerBC future skills grant? 

The StrongerBC future skills grant provides funding to British Columbians aged 19 years or older – regardless of financial need – and covers up to $3,500 in eligible short-term skills training at public post-secondary institutions.

Are you eligible? 

To be eligible for the StrongerBC future skills grant, you:

  • Must be a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or Protected Person entitled to study in Canada.
  • Must be a B.C. resident and currently in BC.
  • Must have graduated high school or be 19 or older.
  • Must provide consent for UFV to disclose your information to the Province, including your SIN.
  • Must not be receiving duplicative and/or overlapping funding to cover eligible costs (e.g., other grants, loans, scholarships, or other funding that covers the same program costs as the StrongerBC future skills grant).
  • Not used your lifetime maximum Future Skills grant of $3,500.

What the grant covers

Up to $3,500 in tuition and, in some cases, mandatory fees and program materials
