Miranda Ting is an interactive designer who believes design is a powerful visual practice that impacts change. Eccentric design thinking, process over product, and connecting to the story is how this change takes place. In 2009, Miranda co-founded a design agency, ZenHouse Media where she collaborated on numerous community-based projects. Some projects include Granville Island Works; where she led the user experience team, and development of the website that showcased over 200 artisans work. Miranda worked with non-profit organizations such as YMCA to teach small business owners WordPress to manage their own websites. She believes by honing a brand’s online digital presence it creates the effect to empower and educate its audience. Her love of teaching led her to design digital curricula for Stanford University’s Digital Media Academy, Red Academy and John Casablanca Institute. Miranda holds a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from UBC, a diploma in Interactive Media & Web Design (Art Institute of Vancouver), and also currently completing a Masters in Web and Digital Design from Scuola Politecnica di Design in Milan, Italy. Miranda’s specialties include CMS systems, user experience (UX), e-commerce, responsive web design (RWD) and front-end website development.
